Since late 2015, I have made a commitment to blog, sharing my research, conclusions, concepts, and thoughts. It has been a rewarding and grueling commitment. It started off a couple times a week, grew to three times a week, scaled back to two times a week, and lately has been every Wednesday for the past several months. Here’s why the BX Blog schedule is changing again.
When I first began to contribute consistently online, it was through blogging.
That was back in 2008. And a lot has changed since then.
There are several factors at play, contributing to the need for me personally to scale back my blogging schedule. Here are two of the most pressing:
Time Commitment: to write a well-researched, thoughtful piece takes a lot of time. Since I began blogging for BrandedWorld in 2015, I’ve written well over 150 articles, averaging 1500 words or so. That’s nearly 250,000 words!
Based on my current project priorities, clients, and future projects, blogging just doesn’t easily fit into my schedule as often as it used to.
New Content Types: Since I began podcasting in May of this year, I have seen rapid growth, beating my personal monthly goals and now surpassing daily and weekly goals for the Brand Experience Podcast. Based on these results and where I believe the internet is headed (think audio/video), my focus will be on growing the podcast.
I’ve also just completed the 31-day, daily vlog challenge for August. While I have a lot to learn still about video in general, it opened up my eyes to a new medium for developing content that I enjoy.
What to Expect Going Forward
Writing is one of the creative ways that I can express myself and thoughts. And I will continue to write. Look for short-form content on LinkedIn (connect with me), on BrandedWorld’s Facebook page (Like and follow), and the occasional long-form blog post here on the BX blog.
I’ll also continue to contribute to large publications such as Huffington Post, Entrepreneur, and others as well.
One of the strategies that I am implementing this fall is a more aggressive distribution and promotion schedule of my 160+ blog posts, 21+ podcast episodes (so far), and 31 vlogs. I’ve developed A LOT of content so far – now it’s time for that content to be more widely distributed.

One of the goals for the BX blog has always been to feature guest experts. While the blog has featured a couple experts this year, I would love to feature more.

The reason why I am sharing this with you is to be fully transparent. My schedule doesn’t allow for me to blog as regularly as I was able to do previously. In fact, it wasn’t that my schedule allowed it before, but that I was pushing to make it happen. Ultimately, it’s not sustainable to do so.
